At the Department of Hospital Therapy No. 1, students of 5, 6 courses of the Faculty of Medicine, and 5 courses of the Faculty of Pediatrics are trained in the specialty "Hospital Therapy." The department has 3 professors, 8 associate professors and 2 assistants.

At the department for students of the 6th year of the Faculty of Medicine, a variable course "Modern clinical recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of internal organs" and an optional course "Modern clinical recommendations for the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with acute coronary syndrome" are held. Tutorials, electronic training and control programs, multimedia atlases, electronic textbooks, video and audiophiles have been created, there are test tasks, guidelines for students, teachers, independent work of students.

The student scientific circle is actively working. Every year, on the basis of specialized medical institutions, with the participation of the Department of Hospital Therapy No. 1, a final student scientific conference is held. Students are engaged in scientific research, which they continue when studying in clinical residency and graduate school. According to the results of research, they annually take prizes at republican and all-Russian student conferences. Employees of the department actively take part in the work of international, all-Russian and republican conferences.

The Department of Hospital Therapy No. 1 repeatedly received prizes in educational and methodological work. The methodology used at the department for teaching internal diseases showed its effectiveness, originality and compliance with world standards. Employees are full of creative forces and energy, which are the main impetus for the development of any team.

Histoty of the Department

The Department of Hospital Therapy was organized in 1937. The first head of the department was Honored Scientist of the BASSR, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Tatarinov Dmitry Ivanovich, who headed the department until 1956. Under his leadership, 2 doctoral and several master's theses were completed. Tatarinov D.I. made a great contribution to the development of scientific research on internal diseases. The main works are devoted to the study of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, rheumatism, heart defects, sepsis. He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor in 1944.

During the Great Patriotic War, P.E. Lukomsky gave lectures at the Department of Hospital Therapy.

One of the founders of the therapeutic school and the organizer of the medical institute was an outstanding clinician, Honored Scientist of the BASSR, Honored Doctor of the RSFSR, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Teregulov Geniatulla Nigmatullovich. He created a scientific school of balneologists. The main scientific works of G.N. Teregulov are devoted to the study of the therapeutic factors of the Yangantau resort, the incidence of oil workers in the republic, and the epidemiology of hypertension. He was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor (1944), the Red Banner of Labor (1949), and the Order of Lenin (1953).

From 1956 to 1972, the department was headed by Honored Scientist of the BASSR, Honored Doctor of the RSFSR, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Z.Sh. Zagidullin, under whose leadership 5 doctoral and 9 master's theses were completed.

He laid down a new scientific direction to study the impact of sulphur oil products on the health of oil producers and refiners (Z.Sh. Zagidullin, F.D. Bulatova, F.Kh. Khusainov, G.L. Gnedkova, R.T. Nabiullin, etc.). The main scientific works are devoted to the study of the clinic of cardiovascular diseases, clinical and experimental works have confirmed the high effectiveness of the therapeutic factors of the Yumatovo sanatorium. Z.Sh. Zagidullin was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor.

Honored Doctor of the BASSR, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Fridman M.N. focused his main attention of the researcher on the study of the Krasnousolsky resort. Professor Friedman M.N. raised the level of teaching military field therapy. He worked on the basis of 1 city hospital and 8 clinical hospitals.

Friedman M.N. made a great contribution to the development of scientific research in cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology.

He was awarded the Order of the Red Star. Despite the fact that Professor M.N. Fridman passed away early, he managed to prepare 4 candidates of medical sciences.

From 1972 to 1984, the department was headed by Honored Scientist of the BASSR, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor B.H. Akhmetova. Under her leadership, the department developed the most important problems of internal diseases, such as bronchopulmonary pathology, coronary heart disease, hypertension, issues of rehabilitation and staged treatment of serdechno­sosudistykh diseases and respiratory organs at the enterprises of the petrochemical and machine-building industries.

From 1984 to 2003, the department was headed by Honored Scientist of the Republic of Belarus and Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences L.N. Mingazetdinova. Her name is associated with the formation of Bashkir cardiology as a scientific school. For many years she was the chairman of the Society of Cardiology of Bashkiria. L.N. Mingazetdinova continued and deepened the main directions in therapy, her students made a significant contribution to the methods of early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of major cardiovascular diseases, peptic ulcer disease, diseases of the blood system. Under her leadership, 5 doctoral and more than 40 master's theses were defended.

Currently, the department is headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor E.G. Mutalova, under whose leadership scientific, educational, methodological and medical work is carried out. She continued the scientific directions that were laid down at the department, in the field of diagnostics, treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Under the leadership of Professor Mutalova E.G., 20 candidate dissertations were defended, scientific work is actively being carried out, the department has repeatedly won prizes in educational and methodological work.

Thus, the Department of Hospital Therapy No. 1, during its existence, has made and continues to make a worthy contribution to the development of the medical service of Bashkortostan.
