The department provides teaching of the discipline "Psychiatry, Medical Psychology", "Psychiatry and Narcology" to students of medical, pediatric, dental and medical-preventive faculties. Training in the specialty of "Psychiatry", "Psychiatry and Narcology", "Psychotherapy", "Forensic Psychiatric Expertise" at the professional retraining and advanced training cycles for doctors is organized for the cadets of Postgraduate courses. Training in internship is carried out.

Since 2020, training in the specialty of "Clinical Psychology" is carried out.

There is a full complex of educational and methodical documentation, including working programs, developed by the staff of the department, methodical manuals for all sections of the disciplines taught (see the link to the portal of the department).

Employees of the department are members of the UMS on specialty "Medical Care", "Pediatrics", "Clinical Psychology", Postgraduate courses. Regular meetings of the cyclic methodical commission (CMC) of psychoneurological disciplines are held.
